While the camera will (usually) support such an operation, it is a camera, not a card reader. Using a card reader is a much better option then connecting your camera to the computer to read the card.Their "unstable" has not presented me with any problems either. Thank you in advance.Ĭode: Select all sudo apt-get install -install-suggests darktable I've spend a fair amount of money (at least for me), and have had much delay getting my new venture into photography off the ground, so any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm hopping it will not come to that, as I really like the idea of supporting this whole Free Source thing, which I have recently discovered. However, when I tried the "PPA" method (please see video below), and no update happened, I was essentially told this is why I should switch to Windows, and use Photoshop and Lightroom. I had some help with installing Darktable from the Computer Help For Photographers Facebook Group (by using the Software Manager), and when it turned my RAW files purple I was told that the 1.4 version probably doesn’t support my camera, and to update to a newer version. Recently I bought a Dell Latitude E6420 from the Free Geek co-op here in Portland, which is installed with Linux Mint 17.1. Now for the past two years I've just been using my phone and tablet for all my internet needs, so now it was time to save up for a computer. Not too long after buying my camera, I find out that post processing your photos in some sort of editing software is actually the other half of digital photography. This last December I decided to take my interest of taking photos to the next level, and I bought my first DSLR (Nikon D3300), along with the book How to Create Stunning Digital Photography. I ask that you please be patient, as I know very little about computers in general. I sure hope I can find the answers I'm needing here, as I'm just about at the end of my rope. At least the developers are aware of this, though.Hi there. Normally the selection can be moved wherever, and the outer line (falloff) of the selection can be scaled in and out in relation to the inner line. The outer line on the masks sometimes disappears, and then the inner line freezes, so you can't move the selection. There is a problem with the masking feature, where sometimes drawn masks don't work correctly. Unfortunately I've already discovered bugs. The program now uses GTK3, which partly accounts for the speed up, I believe. There are a few new modules, such as color reconstruction, though the biggest changes have been under the hood. It loads up image thumbnails much quicker now and even starts up a bit faster I think. I've been using it since then and I am impressed by the improvements over the 1.6 series release. For those Linux users here, Darktable 2.0 (a RAW workflow program) was just released a few days ago.
